Rental Services eCommerce
D2C Services eCommerce UX/UI Design
OverviewA rental service came to us looking to upgrade their current website, making the rental process easier to use.
The Objectives
Reduce purchase friction
Make it easier to find a unit closer to you
Streamline rental selection
Research and DiscoveryTo kick off this project I first completed some competitor analysis to see what others were doing right and where we could improve the current experience. Off the back of this I created a SWOT analysis breaking down the best features of multiple rental businesses which we could implement going forward and how to adapt these features for the current site.
Rental FlowA key area of improvement was within the rental process, both streamlining the user’s path to buy and providing engaging upsells to make the most of each purchase. I tweaked the current process using best practices to highlight the most relevant products and hide unnecessary information to reduce user hesitation.
I also altered the location select screen in an effort to make the screen both more usable and allow users to get straight into the buying flow, increasing conversion.
HomepageAs the face of the site it was important to give an uplift to the homepage. The target was to give the user a more curated product finding experience which was achieved using multiple category/location based product entry points. Here we were reducing clicks to the product while improving the overall experience for users.
SummaryAs we have improved and streamlined the shopping experience, the user journey has greatly improved. Both competitor analysis along with best practices helped to update the site and possibly increase both the amount of conversions alongside overall cart value.
